History

During 2003 several clubs were approached by the secretary of Lydd to partake in a Summer mid-week friendly evening league.    The league began in 2004 with 5 clubs in one Division. Romney Warren, London Beach, Weald of Kent,  Lydd and Tudor Park.   This soon proved golf is socially friendly but too serious not to try and win.   The popularity of the competition brought both The Ridge and Boughton into the league in 2005 and two divisions played home and away as well as a plate being added to the cup competition.   In 2006 Etchinghill joined the league and the eight clubs now play each other once, one year home the next away.   In 2009 Romney Warren resigned from the league and were replaced by Tenterden GC.     2011 witnessed the return of Littlestone Warren and hopefully another club from East Kent to bring the league up to ten teams.    In 2012 we finally became a ten team league when Canterbury joined the East Kent Evening League.   In 2015, Jason Hampton from Etchinghill, kindly donated web hosting and a Domain name for the League. At the end of 2016 Boughton unfortunately  left the league. In 2018 the league was joined by Sene Valley and in 2020 changed format to be played in two divisions.  In 2023 Boughton rejoined and North Foreland became our twelth member.
